I have always received messages through social media or email asking about the setup I use for digital painting.
Through the years, I have changed it several times. I started with a basic Wacom graphics tablet (I don't remember the specific model. I just remember it was the smallest and cheapest one from Wacom, twenty years ago), then upgraded to a Wacom Cintiq 22.
Eventually, the iPad Pro appeared and I switched to it with Procreate. But nowadays, I feel more comfortable with a desktop setup, consisting of a desktop graphics tablet and a computer, combined with the Wacom Movink 14. I love it as a portable painting tablet.
For my graphics tablet, I am using the Xencelabs Medium. I really love this tablet. It is very responsive, comfortable, and easy to use. I have been using it for several years now. It is my current main painting device and I think it will be my final choice, combined with the Wacom tablet I mentioned before.
Regarding the software I use, after years of using Photoshop, then Procreate for ten years, and experimenting with ClipStudio Paint, Krita is the definitive choice for me. This is not only because it is open source, I also love the customization and how well it works. And of course, RobinPad is the perfect place to just paint and relax. 😀
