Design

The visual language, the logo, the icons, and where the textures come from.

The physical space

I didn’t want to create a flat, cold tool. Instead, I wanted to build a warm, inviting space for painting, one that evokes a physical studio: calm, textured, and full of depth.

If you’ve ever painted using traditional methods, you know the process is meditative and cannot be rushed. Since it’s a journey filled with tactile materials and splashes of color, I wanted to recreate those same sensations in a digital environment.

Textures

Textures are an integral part of RobinPad. Not only do they imbue the interface with a cozy aesthetic, but they also serve as a cornerstone for themes and personalization.

Every textured background can be fully tailored through the theme editor.

The logo

I designed the RobinPad logo years ago, though the project was eventually put on hold. The design has undergone several revisions over time, evolving into its current form: a subtle blend of a brush stroke and a robin.

Initially, RobinPad was conceived as a minimalist writing app, but the concept evolved as I honed my illustration skills.

The logo has evolved significantly over the years. Through several revisions and refinements, I finally found the perfect balance.
