Introduction

A library is a folder on your computer where everything you paint with lives. RobinPad reads it and shows you what is inside, and it also writes there: the pads you save go into its Pads folder, and the copies of your work go into its Data folder.

You open it from Tools → My library. The window opens with a mosaic of the kinds of content it holds, and each one says how many things there are:

  • Brush Packs
  • Themes
  • Palettes
  • Washi tapes
  • Pads
  • Backups

Pick one to see what is inside it, and use the arrow at the top to come back.

Switch on what you want to use

Every resource has a switch. Switch it on and it is loaded into RobinPad, ready to paint with. Switch it off and it stays in the folder, waiting: nothing is deleted, and the next time you need it, you just switch it on again.

Brushes and themes work the way they always have: only one of each is in use at a time. Palettes and washi tapes can be switched on together.

Creating a library

Pick "Create library", give it a name and choose where it should live on your computer. RobinPad creates the folder with its subfolders inside.

Loading a library you already have

Pick "Load library" and choose the folder. RobinPad remembers it, so the next time it opens by itself.

If you move the library or rename it, RobinPad will ask for access again: it needs permission to read that folder every time the app opens.

It needs a browser that can read folders

Chrome, Helium, Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc and Chromium can give RobinPad access to a folder on your computer. Other browsers cannot.
