Sizes and formats

Every block in the theme editor has an image with an ideal size. RobinPad takes care of the rest: it converts whatever you upload (jpg, png or webp) to .webp and fits it to the size of its spot, so you don't need to prepare anything.

The Background block of the theme editor: the background color and the workspace texture, with the built-in textures.

The Scenic shadow block of the theme editor, with the switch to show it over the bar and the opacity control.

Workspace background

It's the Background block, the first one in the editor. It's what you see behind your page: the desktop color and the texture that covers it.

  • Ideal size: 2400×1600 px, up to 2400 px wide

Decorative shadow

Three shadow examples: a wooden background with a translucent color layer on top, which blends with the wood instead of covering it.

It's something different from the background: an image with transparency drawn on top of the desktop, behind your notebook. It mixes with whatever is underneath in "Multiply" mode, so it blends with the background instead of covering it.

  • Ideal size: 2400×1600 px, up to 2400 px wide

  • Show scenic shadow over the HUD: the shadow is placed above the interface and the tools, instead of staying below.

  • Shadow opacity: decides how much it shows.

  • Decorative overlay: grain or vignette laid over the shadow. It's pure decoration and is not exported with your painting.

Washi pattern

You can add an image of any size and any proportion: it's automatically fitted to a 512×512 px square.

  • Ideal size: 512×512 px

Keep in mind that when it's cropped, your image's original proportion is not preserved.

It is a repeating pattern: the image you upload repeats along the washi tape, and you see it small. That is why it is best to design simple things, with clear shapes or specific elements, that stand out well even at that size.

The patterns you add here also appear in the washi tape tool. You have the details on the Create patterns page.

Interface textures

Diagram of the 1100x300 px interface texture applied to a horizontal bar and, rotated 90 degrees, to a vertical bar.

These are the textures you see in the backgrounds of the headers and the navigation bars.

Interface texture

It's a single image for all the bars. Each bar shows it in two zones: the top one, untouched, and a darker one that creates the relief effect.

  • Ideal size: 1100×300 px

On vertical bars the image is rotated automatically 90 degrees to the right, so you don't need a separate version for each orientation.

Notebook cover

Centered crop of the cover in four proportions (1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9): the area inside the dashed box is what gets kept.

It's the image that appears on the cover of your notebook. It's cropped in the center according to the size you chose.

  • Ideal size: 1500×1500 px

Buttons base color

You can pick a custom color or one of the available ones. It changes the color of the main buttons.

Titles color

Depending on the interface images you've added, you can choose whether the texts are dark or light, so the contrast stays good.

Cursor

Custom cursor with the tip marked: the circle points at the active spot, which must sit at the tip of the cursor.

You can add a custom cursor. Its tip is the top-left corner of the image, so put it there: it's the point that touches the page when you click or paint.

  • Maximum size: 400×400 px. If your image is bigger, it's reduced to that size automatically, so you don't need to prepare it.

It's best to have transparency around it, so the paper shows through and it doesn't cover your drawing.
